Product Description
Perception Pescador Pro 100
Perception’s Pescador Pro kayak is an all-new edition of the original, tried-and-true Pescador model—an upgrade carried out with the needs of the modern ‘yak angler closely in mind.
Hot off the assembly line, the Pescador Pro comes in two sizes, the Pescador Pro 100 being the shorter, 10-foot version. (Its bigger brother, the Pescador Pro 120, adds a couple of feet and a few pounds.) With its widened sidewalls and straight-tracking keel, the Pro 120 is a well-rounded sit-on-top in the best sense: a jack-of-all-trades kayak that earns high marks in the speed, maneuverability, and stability arenas. That makes it an excellent choice for a fisherman or woman who enjoys mixing it up setting- and fish-wise: Its versatile hull allows the Pescador Pro 100 to ply everything from winding rivers and backwater swamps to open lakes and inshore saltwater.
And while it’s out on the water, the Pescador Pro 100’s sturdy but lightweight skeleton of roto-molded polyethylene plastic keeps it battle-ready in the face of UV rays and the kind of abrasions and impacts that come with the territory in kayak fishing. (Keep in mind that Perception’s the company that introduced plastic kayaks to the market, so these folks know how to engineer a boat that’s tough and durable without being heavy or unwieldy.)
Sit Like a Pro: The Pro Seat
The Pescador Pro 100 comes flush with all kinds of design features to make your paddling and fishing adventures that much more comfortable and satisfying. A fantastic upgrade in the Pescador Pro line is the Pro Seat, just about as agreeable and ergonomic an angling HQ as you could ask for. Configured in stadium-style, the removable Pro Seat is utterly versatile: Its high-low capabilities mean you can paddle hard, scan your fishing grounds, and easily exit the ‘yak from the upright seat position, or indulge in some relaxed casting from the reclined setting. The Pro Seat can also be moved fore and aft to allow you to efficiently trim the ‘yak. It’s removable, too, which gives you the option of a more recessed perch. The Pescador Pro 100’s seating is enhanced by the inclusion of the adjustable Keepers Foot Brace system.
Other Prime Angling-Ready Features
Bow to stern, the Pescador Pro 100 has plentiful options for efficiently storing gear and outfitting without having to drill any pesky holes into the hull. The tankwell in the Pro 100’s bow sports a snazzy mesh cover, while the one in the stern comes strapped with bungees. You can rig the center console, meanwhile, with whatever fish-finding, navigational, and other electronics you might desire; there’s a handy scupper for incorporating a transducer. The gunwales include conveniently arrayed rails to which YakAttack gear tracks can be easily attached, which gives you the ability to securely mount all sorts of add-ons to the Pro 100. The kayak also includes molded-in rod holders and a recessed compartment for storing your tackle boxes. In other words, Perception has designed the Pescador Pro 100 to maximize rigging surfaces and storage volume in a beautifully compact setup.
Other design gems you’re sure to appreciate on the Pescador Pro 100 include the paddle park (for securing your paddle when you’re devoting both hands to bait, rod-and-reel, or flip-flopping fish), the comfort-carry handles, and the molded-in cup holder.
The Pescador Pro 100’s big-picture design and flashy features combine with those subtler accouterments to produce a kayak that supports your angling at every turn. Comfort and function combine in this nimble watercraft to a knockout degree.
